Dr. Pawan Begani

Dr. Pawan Begani is a renowned Consultant Diabetologist in Surat, currently functioning as Managing Director and Chief Consultant Diabetologist at Bhagwan Mahavir Diabetes Centre, located at Majura Gate.

Dr. Pawan Begani graduated with the MBBS degree from Silchar Medical College & Hospital (Assam University) in 2007. He then did his post-graduation in Family Medicine from Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore. He then completed a 2-year, full-time Fellowship in Diabetes (FDRC) from MV Hospital & Diabetes Research Centre, Chennai - this is a World Health Organisation (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Diabetes in India. Dr. Begani received the "Best Fellow" award during his training here.

In the past Dr. Pawan Begani has worked in the Department of Medicine at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, and has also served the Assam Government. He worked as a Research Associate on the IMNCI Project - a programme of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, in association with UNICEF, WHO, INCLEN and USAID. Dr. Begani is also trained in Basic Life Support (BLS), a course conducted by the American Heart Association.

Dr. Pawan Begani has a keen interest in research activities connected with diabetic foot. He has attended, moderated and delivered numerous lectures on various topics relating to the field of Diabetes.
